Pavers Installation, Twin Falls Idaho
Kimberly Nurseries
Twin Falls, ID
Hardscape

Kimberly Nurseries designs many different types of paver and retaining wall solutions. The following details some of our options and explains the benefit of these hardscape solutions.

Paver installations and retaining walls or hardscapes, as some refer to it, is the backbone of a landscape project.  With minor exception it does not change its form after the job's completion. What you see is usually what you get - as opposed to the diversely fluid life span of the planted garden.

Hardscape construction certainly defines outdoor space in the same way that planting beautifies outdoor space. Successful construction design and implementation has the ability to delineate space in a way that brings continuity and flow between the house and outdoors. It fortifies the functionality of your outdoor living space, pulling the user out as a participant rather than a mere observer. Its results are usually very immediate and in most cases permanent. It allows landscape to become architecture.

Outdoor rooms are created by intermingling and manipulating floors, ceilings, walls, and doors. Different media for each of those elements are chosen and integrated to bring about contrasting garden experiences. Garden walls might be fencing, wooden screening, solid panels of brick and stone, short retaining walls, or taller, free-standing enclosure walls. Floors can be segments of suspended decking, all types of paving, or visually can even be horizontal planes of water. Ceilings are normally partial ceiling such as awning, arbors, or trellises, but will sometimes become a fully functional ceiling as with the summerhouse, pavilion, or pool house.

Kimberly Nurseries uses many specialty components of construction to bring life and diversity to the outdoor living space. There are many expressions of water features, night lighting, paver patio’s, retaining and seat walls, that enhance your outdoor space.

VERSATILITY
Concrete Pavers are an ideal choice for both residential and commercial applications, including surface coverings for driveways, parking lots, promenades, sidewalks, pool decks, patios, streets, golf cart paths and even roof gardens. Interlocking concrete pavers are a sensible and aesthetically attractive choice for all outdoor surfaces. On both vehicular and pedestrian applications pavers have a non-skid surface even when the pavers are wet they are safe to walk or drive a vehicle over them.

LOW MATERIAL & INSTALLATION COST
The cost of Concrete pavers are much less than other type of paving products since they are manufactured with machines as compared to other naturally occurring products. Concrete pavers are usually less expensive than clay pavers, granite pavers or sandstone pavers. When considering maintenance and replacement costs, concrete pavers offer an economical long-term alternative to other types of paving options. For small and simple projects cost can be also reduced by a home owner installing the pavement themselves using installation guides provided by the manufacturer of the paver products..

MANY SHAPES AND COLORS
Concrete pavers come in a literally endless number of styles & color possibilities. Concrete pavers are manufactured to look like naturally occurring paving materials. Some of the different styles include stone-like pavers, clay brick-like pavers. Light colored pavers offer a cooler surface around patios and pool decks. The earth tone colors harmonize with any decor, blending naturally into the landscape, and providing, elegance, grace, beauty and functionality. The same project can use two or more different colors of concrete pavers in addition to a mix of different textures.

CUSTOME DESIGN FLEXIBILITY
Designing a custom look is made easy by the many shapes, patterns, and colors of Concrete Pavers. The designs are ideal for pavement areas, such as patios, patio decks, pool decks, roof decks, driveways, walkways, sidewalks, parking lanes, cross walks, and intersections. The beauty of pavers adds value and visual appeal to any property. By adding flexibility not possible with any other paving materials. Concrete Pavers can compliment with existing landscaping to deliver beauty to any property.

HIGH STRENGTH
Concrete pavers are manufactured in a steel mold under exacting factory conditions & tight dimensional tolerances, thus resulting in a product that is many times stronger than regular poured concrete and more durable than black asphalt. They can withstand years of abuse and last for generations. In addition these interlocking paving units allows for expansion and contraction without producing surface cracks unlike monolithic concrete surfaces and stamped concrete. Each unit has joints that allow for a small amount of movement without cracking.

These pavers are manufactured from a concrete mix, using a 700 ton hydraulic press at intense pressures exceeding 2250 PSI. This process creates an extremely dense unit paver which possess exceptional strength and durability, superior stability under severe loads, and is unaffected by heat and cold extremes. As a result these pavers boast a compressive strength of 8000 PSI and have strength comparable to that of natural stone.

MAINTENANCE
Pavers are low-maintenance and offer low life-cycle costs than any other paving products such as Asphalt, poured concrete, and stamped concrete. Pavers are easily maintained by regular sweeping and occasional rinsing. In the case tough stains, pressure washing with appropriate cleaning solutions or a simple spot treatment with a brush, cleaning solvent & water. Pavers can be repaired by lifting the affected area, re-grading and re-compacting the base and bedding sand and reinstalling the same pavers. It is an inexpensive procedure that leaves no unsightly repair patches. Concrete pavers also provide a functional and easy way for conducting maintenance to the under base or underground utilities. Simply remove and reinstate the same pavers with no ugly patches after the repairs to the underground utilities are completed. Pavers can be easily removed and replaced for utility repairs.

WEATHER RESISTANCE
Pavers can be used in any climate and can be walked on immediately upon compaction. Cracking, which is common with traditional asphalt and concrete pavements, is not a issue with these interlocking concrete pavers due to the joints between the pavers. Interlocking concrete pavers are a flexible system and allow for movement, they are almost indestructible, the pavement system moves in unison with the earth's usual tendency to swell and contract over the long term thus avoiding any serious damage.

In colder climates where snow is a common element, Concrete pavers are the ideal choice. Concrete pavers resist deterioration of freezing and thawing cycles and deicing salts better than asphalt and ordinary poured in place concrete. Snow can be plowed, blown or shoveled just like asphalt or concrete pavements. The bevelled or chamfered edges of pavers prevent plows or shovels from catching on the edge. Other methods of snow removal can also be applied to these pavers. De-icing products such as calcium chloride or salt will not harm the pavers. Electric or liquid snow melting systems work well under concrete pavers, eliminating snow removal while reducing slip hazards. Darker colored pavers can also aid in accelerating the melting process.
